Increasing awareness and raising funds for life saving research.

Promises for Purple Pancreatic Cancer Awareness started in 2010 by Claire Muollo shortly after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. During her treatments at Dana Farber Cancer Institute, she realized the passion the pancreatic research doctors at DFCI have to better detect the disease in its early stages, to allow those inflicted with this disease to have a better quality of life, and ultimately, to find a cure.

With the help of family and friends, Ms. Muollo decided to organize a family-friendly 5k walk at Braintree High School in Braintree, Massachusetts. Since that time, Promises for Purple has raised over $271,000 for pancreatic cancer research.

Sadly, Ms. Muollo passed away in early 2014. Ever tireless and filled with strength, hope and a sense of humor, her crusade to bring awareness and help find a cure continues through her two sons, family and friends and, above all, your support.
